Tomorrow, I embark on my first big solo multi day “walk”, starting with a casual 115 Kilometre (83 miles in the old money) saunter of Hadrians Wall between Wallsend (Newcastle- upon- Tyne-) to Bowness-on-Solway over 5-6 days – aiming for 20-25kms a day.
The planning I’ve done for this walk, let’s be honest has been sweet F.A. – generally done during periods of jetlag or commuting, not very smart 😂 but as the old saying goes “in for a penny, in for a pound”
Yes, this makes me a bit of a nutter!
Yes, no training has been done for this either (!), although during event periods (for those reading this that don’t me, I work in outdoor events) I tend to walk up to 30km a day – so in theory this should be a doddle**
Very much looking forward to taking off into the countryside for a week, and fortunately rain isn’t forecast until next Friday – Woo hoo!
Will write a bit more of a detailed post(s) as I go and add some pretty pictures too.
** I have a feeling I’ll be eating my words soon
